Oscar Junquera has become well established as a Board member of both private and publicly listed companies which have navigated through a wide variety of complex issues. He has also been involved in a number of circumstances where companies have evaluated strategic alternatives leading to a merger or sale of the business.   • Director, 2011 – 2014
  • Compensation, Governance and Nominating Committees
  • Twenty capital markets transactions which raised $5.7 billion through year-end 2014, including offerings of Common Stock (9), Exchangeable Notes and CMBS (6) and Preferred Stock (5)
  • Nine strategic transactions (acquisitions, investments and joint ventures) totaling almost $10 billion, which resulted in achieving significant diversification in the commercial real estate market, with exposure to retail, multi-family, healthcare, manufactured housing, hotel, industrial and office properties
  • Spin-out of NorthStar Asset Management Group (“NSAM”/NYSE) with an initial market capitalization of $3.6 billion and conversion of NRF to an externally managed REIT
  • Spin-out of NorthStar Realty Europe (“NRE”/NYSE) with an initial market capitalization of $870 million

  • Established headquarters domicile in Luxembourg
  • Over 80 new employees to bolster Treasury, Internal Audit, Tax and Compliance operations
  • Grew AUM in Sponsored Retail Companies to $4.5 billion by year end 2015
  • $450 million acquisition of The Townsend Group, an investment management and advisory firm focused on real estate, infrastructure, timber and agriculture
  • Senior management changes included transitioning CEO to Executive Chairman and promoting a Co-President to CEO
  • $400 million share repurchase programs in 2015 and 2016
  • Appointed to Special Committee comprised of three Independent Directors to explore strategic alternatives in 2016

  • Assisted management in identifying and negotiating potential acquisition opportunities with a wide variety of investment management companies
  • Acquired Zais Group Holdings (now “ZAIS”/Nasdaq), which commenced trading in March 2015 with a market capitalization of $145 million

Toroso Investments LLC

  • Director since 2012
  • Assisted management in a $1.8 million initial private capital raise, expanding distribution relationships and adapting strategic direction to evolving market conditions
  • Restructuring of ownership interests in 2015, including the replacement of Toroso’s CEO and sourcing $750,000 of new growth capital
  • Reorganized into three core business units—Toroso Asset Management, Toroso Advisors and Tidal Growth Consultants
